1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using PromptChain, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use PromptChain. If you are between 13 and 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission. By using the service, you confirm you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement.

3. Your account

You sign in using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorized account access.

You may not create accounts on behalf of others or use automated methods to create accounts.

4. Plans and billing

• Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. The charge appears on your statement as "PromptChain."
• Subscriptions renew automatically on the same date each month until cancelled.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You retain access until the end of the current billing period.
• Run counts reset on the first day of each calendar month.
• Plan limits apply to server-side runs. Bring-your-own-key (BYOK) runs are processed directly by the AI provider and do not count against your PromptChain run limit.

5. Refunds

We offer a full refund within 7 days of your first charge on a new paid plan, provided you have not exceeded 50 server-side runs during that period. To request a refund, email [email protected] with the subject line "Refund request."

Renewals (subsequent monthly charges after the first) are not refundable. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle — we do not issue prorated refunds for mid-cycle downgrades.

6. Bring your own key (BYOK)

PromptChain supports using your own API keys from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, LM Studio, and Ollama. When you use BYOK:

• Your keys are stored only in your browser — we never transmit or store them on our servers
• You are solely responsible for any costs incurred with your AI provider
• You are responsible for complying with your provider's terms of service
• We make no guarantees about the availability or behavior of third-party AI providers

7. Your content

You retain full ownership of all prompt chains, nodes, and other content you create in PromptChain. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models.

If you publish a chain to the public gallery, you grant other users the right to view and use it as a template for their own work.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use PromptChain to:

• Generate content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or abusive
• Generate spam, phishing content, or deceptive material at scale
• Violate the terms of service of any AI provider whose API you use through PromptChain
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the service
• Create accounts by automated means or under false pretenses
• Resell or sublicense access to the service without written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice.

9. Service availability

PromptChain is provided "as is." We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may:

• Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
• Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Suspend access for accounts that violate these terms

We are not liable for any losses caused by service downtime or unavailability.

10. Limitation of liability

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Pulaski County, Virginia.
